Wallflower Fair Lady
The most painterly wallflower in the range. Fair Lady is a heritage-style mix in a unique palette of rusty tones — cream, lemon, apricot, salmon-pink, and gentle crimson — that together create a warm, sun-bleached tapestry quite unlike the single-colour varieties.
A powerful heady fragrance of honey and cloves, hardy to H5, and listed on the RHS Plants for Pollinators. The mixed tones mean no two plants are quite the same, giving a naturalistic, slightly wild quality that suits the cottage garden perfectly.
- Erysimum cheiri 'Fair Lady' — Hardy Biennial (H5)
- Height: 30–45cm | Flowers: March–May (Year 2)
- Sow outdoors May–July; flowers the following spring
- Full sun; well-drained, slightly alkaline soil
- Pinch growing tip at 10–15cm to avoid legginess
- RHS Plants for Pollinators listed
Plant in generous drifts and let the colours find their own combinations. The result always looks as though it has been there for years.
