Solar-Powered 3MP WiFi Bird Box & Wildlife Camera

Camera origin: Designed in Britain and manufactured overseas.

Watch feeding birds and garden wildlife with this Green Feathers 3MP WiFi camera and solar panel. Rechargeable batteries and solar charging give you more flexibility to position the camera away from a mains socket, while the Green Feathers app lets you view live footage and play back recordings on iOS or Android.

A reliable 2.4GHz WiFi signal is required at the camera. A bird box, feeder and microSD card are not included. This model does not support Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

Solar charging and battery operation

The solar panel helps recharge the battery-powered system. Runtime depends on sunlight, recording activity and time spent watching live footage. Busy nests, frequent triggers and prolonged cloudy weather increase charging demands, so occasional supplementary charging may be needed.

This is a battery-powered camera with a fast wake-up function and PIR heat detection. It should not be chosen on the assumption that solar charging will sustain uninterrupted live viewing or continuous recording in all conditions.

The camera can be positioned up to 4 metres from the solar panel. This connection cannot be extended further. Place the panel where it receives plenty of direct daylight, ideally facing south, while keeping any bird box out of strong midday sun and prevailing winds.

Watch, listen and record

The 2.8mm lens captures 3MP video, with colour images during daylight hours. A built-in microphone lets you hear birdsong and nearby wildlife sounds. Infrared LEDs provide night vision up to 10 metres.

Insert a compatible microSD card up to 128GB, sold separately, to save footage. Format the card before use, following the camera instructions. App features include live viewing, playback and motion alerts.

Outdoor installation

The camera has an IP65-rated weather-resistant design for outdoor use. Mounting brackets and fixings are included for positioning the camera and panel. Check WiFi reception at the intended location before installation; range depends on your router, obstacles and site conditions.
