Linum Bright Eyes
A plant of movement and morning light. Linum Bright Eyes produces masses of wide, saucer-shaped flowers with glistening satin-white petals and a striking ring of carmine-red at the centre — a hand-painted quality on slender, wiry stems that sway and shimmer in the slightest breeze.
Each individual bloom opens with the sunrise and drops its petals by late afternoon — but the plant produces such a staggering volume of buds that a fresh flush appears every single morning for weeks. The perfect antidote to heavy, blocky bedding plants.
- Linum grandiflorum 'Bright Eyes' — Hardy Annual (H3)
- Height: 40–50cm | Flowers: June–September
- Approximately 250 seeds per packet
- Direct sow March–May or September — do not transplant
- Full sun; lean, well-drained soil — drought-tolerant once established
- Outstanding pollinator plant
Grow it with Cornflower Black Ball for a sophisticated pairing — the carmine eye of the flax picks up the dark velvet of the cornflower perfectly.
