Lettuce Lollo Rossa

Lettuce Lollo Rossa produces loose, deeply frilled leaves with deep crimson-burgundy tips that are as beautiful in a flower border as they are in a salad bowl — a cut-and-come-again variety that provides weeks of harvest from a single sowing and adds a dramatic splash of colour to any kitchen garden.

• Sow: March–August direct or indoors; harvest: May–October
• Full sun to partial shade; rich, moist, well-drained soil
