Foxglove Bishy Barnabee Mix
The signature foxglove blend from Bishy Barnabees — a carefully composed mix of tall purples, soft whites, and warm apricots that together create the kind of naturalistic, layered border that takes years to achieve by accident and one packet to achieve on purpose.
Each spire rises to 1.2–1.5m, densely packed with thimble-shaped bells and the characteristic speckled throats that make foxgloves so irresistible to bumblebees. Ultra-hardy (H7, to -20°C), self-seeding, and listed on the RHS Plants for Pollinators.
- Digitalis purpurea — Bishy Barnabees signature blend
- Hardy Biennial (H7) — surviving to -20°C
- Height: 1.2–1.5m | Spread: 45cm | Flowers: May–July (Year 2)
- Approximately 1,000 seeds per packet
- Thrives in shade and partial shade
- Self-seeding — naturalises beautifully over time
- RHS Plants for Pollinators listed
- Sow indoors April–May or outdoors May–July (seeds need light to germinate)
Scatter generously through a woodland border and let them find their own way. They always do.
