Craspedia Drumstick
The most geometric flower in the cutting garden. Craspedia produces perfect, smooth, golden-yellow spheres on long, straight, leafless stems — a clean, architectural form that looks as though it has been designed rather than grown, and provides a bold, graphic element in arrangements that no other flower quite replicates.
Dries perfectly, retaining its golden colour for months. Outstanding for contemporary and minimalist arrangements as well as traditional dried wreaths.
- Craspedia globosa — Half-Hardy Annual (H2)
- Height: 60–90cm | Flowers: July–September
- Sow indoors February–April at 20°C; surface sow
- Full sun; well-drained soil — plant out June only
- Outstanding for cutting fresh and drying
- Retains golden colour indefinitely when dried
Grow it with Statice Hipster Mixed and Bupleurum for a cutting garden combination that dries into a winter arrangement of gold, jewel tones, and lime-green.
