Courgette Zucchini

The classic Italian courgette — and the most versatile one. Courgette Zucchini produces glossy, dark green fruits with a firm, sweet flesh and large golden flowers on compact, bushy plants that are outstanding for grilling, roasting, pasta, and ratatouille. Open-pollinated, prolific, and one of the most rewarding vegetables in the summer kitchen garden.

• Sow: April–May indoors; plant out June; harvest: July–October
• Full sun; rich, well-drained soil — water generously at the base
• Space 90cm apart; harvest at 15–20cm for best flavour
