Calendula Wintersun

Sale price£2.40

A beacon of hope in the greyest months. Wintersun is a cold-defying calendula that produces large, creamy-apricot blooms during mild winter spells — a remarkable quality that makes it one of the few annuals capable of bringing colour to the garden from autumn through to early spring.

Hardy to H5, it will shrug off typical UK winters and flower whenever the temperature allows, providing a quiet, persistent cheerfulness through the months when the garden needs it most.

  • Calendula officinalis 'Wintersun' — Hardy Annual (H5)
  • Height: 50–60cm | Flowers: Autumn–Winter–Early Spring
  • Sow August–September for winter and early spring blooms
  • Full sun to partial shade; well-drained soil
  • One of the hardiest calendulas available — flowers through mild winter spells
  • Petals edible — excellent pollinator plant

Sow in late summer and let it carry the garden through to spring. Few annuals earn their place more quietly or more reliably.
